The criteria for selection
Applicants
must meet the requirements below in order to be eligible for Rhodes
Scholarships at Oxford University in the United Kingdom:
1. Nationality:
To be eligible for a Rhodes Scholarship, a student must be from one of the
nations on the list. The Global prize, which is expected to be the most
competitive prize provided by the Rhodes Trust, is open to students of other
nationalities.
2. Age:
As of October 1, 2023, you must meet one of the conditions listed below:
a. You
must be at least 18 years old and under 24 (born after October 1, 1999, and on
or before October 1, 2005, respectively).
b) If
you were born after October 1, 1996, and you are an older candidate who
finished your first undergraduate degree later than typical, you should not
have attained the age of 27 AND you should have or will fulfil the standards
for finishing your first degree on or after October 1, 2022.
3. Academic Requirements:
You must have earned a First Class undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of
3.70 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) or plan to do so by June or July 2024. Please
be aware that some Oxford courses may have more stringent prerequisites.
Successful applicants typically rank among the top few grads in their class.
4. English Proficiency:
To fulfill the English language proficiency requirements at the Higher Level
set by the University of Oxford, you must possess a proficient level of the
language.

Financial Rewards
For
the year 2024, Oxford University in the UK will be offering fully financed
Rhodes Scholarships. The entire cost of earning a postgraduate degree at Oxford
University is covered by this prize. The following financial assistance is made
possible by the Rhodes Scholarship:

Payment of the university application
fee and all university and college fees
·
A living allowance of £16,218 per year -
One economy class round-trip flight from London to Oxford at the start of the
scholarship
·
Upon completion of the scholarship, the
student will receive one economy class travel home.
Please take note that
the Scholarship has a two-year term and is only awarded to students who
demonstrate satisfactory grades and behaviour. If the student takes a
recognised path to a DPhil (PhD), they may also request for an extension of the
scholarship for a third year, according to the application process.
